Ted Turner Reserves

Ted Turner Reserves was founded in April 2019 as a hospitality brand grounded in conservation with a mission to connect people with nature. The four properties, Vermejo, Ladder, Armendaris and Sierra Grande serve as living classrooms, offering unique opportunities for guests to immerse themselves in 1.1 million acres of pristine wilderness.

From standing on the edge of a cavern as over a million Mexican free-tailed bats emerge at sunset to hiking through Late-Cretaceous dinosaur bone fields, and witnessing the Castle Rock bison herd migrating through vast re-wilded landscapes, these rich experiences have the power to change how we see the world.

“Ted has a very deep and genuine belief that when we spend time in nature, particularly these healthy and restored ecosystems, we witness the transformative power of nature, how it renews our spirits and strengthens our connection to the world around us. We truly leave better humans. ~Ted Turner Reserves President, Jade McBride

Whether you’re staying at Vermejo, named the top resort in the Southwest by Condé Nast, the Country House at Ladder, the Hacienda at Armendaris, or amidst Sierra Grande’s natural hot springs, your trip-of-a-lifetime also plays an important role in restoring and conserving New Mexico’s working woodlands. As an extension of the non-profit Turner Institute of Ecoagriculture, each guest stay generates revenue for dozens of conservation projects, including protecting desert bighorn sheep, reintroducing Rio Grande cutthroat trout, and regenerative grazing practices. Each visitor to Ted Turner Reserves ensures these lands become a better resource to care for humanity for generations.
